When did your LO's first teeth arrive?

My DD is 11 months next week, and she's only got half a tooth (probably more like a quarter really!), with another just emerging. All her baby friends of similar ages have at least 4 teeth, and they seem to have had them for ages.

Any cause for concern, or am I just worrying over nothing (as usual!)

Thanks

You are worrying over nothing! Don't worry about it, seriously. Some babies don't get anything till they are over 1. My DD is 11 months, and have 6 teeth, but to be honest, they look quite odd as she is so tiny and has 6 big teeth! Lol.

We have started brushing them etc and she loves it, opens her mouth for it etc.

nithing to worry about. i know loads of babies who have no teeth til well after 12 months. they're all different. my ds' first tooth was through at 8 months. he had 4 teeth for about 6 months before the rest came through and within a month or two he had 12! they just came through all at once. all normal.x

My ds got his first tooth at 10mo and second at 11mo, he's 13 and a half months now and still only has the two bottom ones. Nothing to worry about I say

6 weeks!, health visitor couldn't believe it, they don't last well IME if they come in early, safer in the gums.

My DS is 14 months next week and still has no gnashers!
I keep thinking, should I ring HV to check this is OK?

Thanks for all your answers - if it's not one thing to worry about, then it's another, isn't it?

DD1 was 13 months DD2 was 12 months! Dentist thought this was great as they come out stronger and have less time to be at risk of decay!

santasinmywaistband · 18/12/2008 20:57

DD 4.5 months
DS 14 months

Even siblings don't follow a pattern

10 months. She's now almost two and still only has ten teeth! I see it as a bonus- less teeth to clean!

It was 5mths. Now at 18 mths his last has just come through (apart from the big four). It's been a long road for him.

My DS is 12 months and has two teeth which started coming through about two weeks ago. Most other babies I know have more but DS is the only one who picks his nose! I'm soooo proud
