13 month old wants to be carried all the time

My DD2 has recently become quite demanding about being carried. Particularly towards the end of the day she simply screams and screams if I don't carry her the whole time. This makes it difficult to organise tea for the kids and tidy up etc as she is heavy! And DD1 was never like this.

Is this common? Could there be something wrong? I think she is teething so am giving her Calpol from time to time but she settles fine at night so doubt it can really be pain.

She will literally follow me round in a non stop screaming rage until I can't bear it any more and pick her up.

Help! My back is killing me and my DD1 is getting really upset by it.

My dd (2.4) is the same. Can be trying esp first thing in the morning when trying to get breakfast. Am hoping it will wear off. Hippychick hipseat very helpful for the weight.

My dd (19 months) exactly, and she's always been like this - certainly at 13 months. In fact, thinking about it, I carried her a lot more at 13 months than I do now - tho still do now. And recognise the 'end of the day' thing - particularly when she was a bit younger. Now she's happier to play around me, tho not always.

Certainly can second the recommendation for the hippychick, my dd has lived half her life on one it sometimes seems. In fact, ours is now worn out and I'm about to buy our second...
