2 year old telling herself off!

My DD always talks to herself but has recently started telling herself off and shouting at herself.

She always wants to play with the baby monitor and I say "no, don't touch it". Now she points at it and says "want, want the monitor" then shouts at herself "NO DON'T TOUCH IT, LEAVE IT ALONE" sounding much angrier than I ever do...

Is this normal, she can get quite worked up!!

TIA

yes it's normal, you'll probably find she starts telling off her dollies and putting them on the naughty step.

Thanks!

She is quite scary, I think she will have quite an "assertive" personality when older!

Sounds normal. How old is she?

Wait until she starts mumbling your usual swear words.....

FanjoForTheYuletideMammaries · 12/12/2008 08:36

she is 2.1...has been saying "no" to herself for a while but this morning was really laying into herself!

I have SO FAR managed not to swear in front of her..I just leave the room and do it instead then go back in and paste the smile on!

Dont really know if its 'normal' but seeing as she is only 2yrs old, I suspect almost anything is normal.

I actually always try to be calm and NOT shout "no" at her too much for this reason, but my mum and aunty look after her once a week each and are ALWAYS saying it!!

And you know what's next...........one day you are going to have a go at her and think, shit now I sound like my mother.

FanjoForTheYuletideMammaries · 12/12/2008 08:40

that errrrr... might have happened already
