DS is 2.5YO and he broke his dummy last night so I have decided to try and give it up.

How hard is it? Should I buy some just incase? I am dreading doing this but really want him to be off it by the time he's 3.

What are your experiences please reassure me

And if anyone else is doing it too do let me know how you are copng.

I will watch this thread with interest as I also need some help on this one
ds is 3 and he kicks off if he doesnt have his dummy in sight

my DD was much, much younger, so I'm not sure how relevant my experience is.

BUT:
day/night one - horrid, horrid, horrid. tears all round
day/night two - better, still grumpy
day/night three - job done!

so whilst it is so hard to begin with, DD very quickly got used to not having it.

could father christmas bring him a bribe early present in return for the dummy?

save all the stress and heartache on both sides

just allow the wee mites to give up their 'dumbo feather' in their own time
