Please can you talk to me about loosing the bottle for my 2 ds's

I would like to stop using the bottle for my 2 ds's, ds1 is 2.7, ds2 is 11 months in the new year.

Now, I don't anticipate it will be too much of a problem for ds2 as he is young and not so attached to his bottle. DS1 however, is a different matter. He loves having his milk from a bottle and, as he's a picky eater, I haven't wanted to rock the boat as I want to make sure he has his milk. I recognise though that he's getting bigger and I worry for his teeth (although we do clean his teeth after his bedtime bottle).

Has getting rid of the bottle had a negative impact on milk consumption your dc's? Should I go for a sippy cup for my older child or go for a regular cup? I guess I need to use a sippy cup for my youngest?

Would welcome advice from anyone who's gone through this

I put mine both on lidded cups and threw the bottles out (well hid them in the loft) the younger one was 11 months & the elder one 25 months - she WAS NOT IMPRESSED (I had tried ditching the bottles a few times) but I said the bottles are gone it's milk in this or not at all. She was sad for a few days but she just got on with it, no it didn't affect her consumption apart from the initial couple of days.

take him to boots and let him choose his big boy cup... tell him the bottles are going to a baby that needs it.... make it sound like its an exciting thing to happen....
