dd1 (nearly 3) has discovered how to put the light on in her bedroom - how do i stop her playing with her toys five minutes after we say 'good night'?

she has a bloomin' nightlight so it's not like we leave her in pitch darkness or anything...

I assume she means a Polish handy man who climbs up a ladder and changes the lightbulb for you.

Yes of course I keep a supply of Eastern Europeans in the stationery cupboard just in case

It's got a thing on the end which grabs the lightbulb and twists it out. As you can tell I haven't used it yet but DH keeps banging on about how 'super' it is!

DesperateHousewifeToo · 06/12/2008 21:20

My dd does this.

She has just realsied that she can reach some of the light switches and spends the day going around the house switching all the lights on.

Just because she can

I follow, switching them off, lol. She can't reach to turn them off, apparently.

I often go to bed to find her light on in the loft.

'Tis a phase. The novelty will wear off. So I wouldn't worry your Poles about it.

I used to take the bulb out in my sons room until one day I came storming upstairs to discover why there was light in their room, switched on the landing light, nothing...

lol nighbynight, full marks for initiative.

i'm thinking that it's only so annoying because dd2 is a cluster-feeding maniac at the same time as dd1 goes to bed. poor dd1, she's got me trying gamely to get her into the bed and she can hear dd2 ROARING in the other room.

anyway, she's in bed tonight without demur... because she was threatened with not being taken to the panto tomorrow. doesn't even know what a panto is, the little idiot.
