7yo DTD2 is obsessed by another girl at school (who reciprocates).

She asked me the other week if girls can marry girls - which I answered truthfully yes.

Apparenely they are going to move in together and get married and have a purple lounge and a pink bedroom...and everything is planned to the minutest detail.

Anyways, today apparently they kissed each other (on the cheek) under the table to practise for when they are married.

I am not worried about this. I am just checking that the knowledgable MN are in agreement.

i would not be worried about it either

TurkeyLurkey · 02/12/2008 22:09

No I wouldn't be worried either.

mckenzie · 02/12/2008 22:12

neither would I.

SparkyFartDust · 02/12/2008 22:12

no wouldn't be worried. I remember being deeply 'in love' with my best friends.

I think children imagine you marry the person you have strong feelings for- might be mummy/ daddy or friend.

sounds like they are having fun being good friends

TY for reassuring me ...I just didn't want to be ignoring something that required attention IYSWIM

I was thinking about something like this tonight. A boy in ds's class (not his best friend) has a bit of a thing about him. He came home for tea tonight and kept going on about how he loved ds and wanted to kiss him on the lips. He said that his name on their favourite online site was going to be 'X loves ds'. Ds kept telling him to stop it. Later I found him trying to hold ds down on the couch and kiss him. He didn't get very far as ds is stronger and bigger than him, but I did think it was a bit unusual. (They're in year 3) If ds was trying to do the same thing to a girl I wouldn't be happy with him. I told his friend not to do it as ds didn't like it.

hmm - in this instance it is reciprocated 100%. There is nothing unwanted going on.
