Just wondering...I've read somewhere, that whilst playing with under 3's, you should always just be a quiet play friend, letting them take the lead and letting them invite you into games etc.

I find myself doing too much round the house. always doing laundry and washing up etc. would like to spend more time playing with DS, esp coz LO on the way and suddently realising this is all the quiet one on one time we're going to get. Anyone know the developmental psychologists viewpoint on playing methods? etc?

Don't know about a developmental psychologists view, sorry, but I do agree this time goes by too fast and you should leave the house till dc is asleep. I have a 13 month old and we play with bricks for hours, look at picture books crawl round the sitting room after each other, shes learnt how to grasp a crayon so we're working on that...just enjoy him.
