Strange change in sleeping pattern - would you get this checked out?

Feel free to tell me to stop being so PFB and go away and count my blessings!

DS (18 mo) has always been a pretty good sleeper and from about 11 months has slept 11 hours at night with nap of 1-2 hours after lunch.

In the last few weeks his night time sleeping has just gone crazy - he's always asleep by 7pm, I work 4 days when I take him to nursery and have to wake him at 7:15am. On the other 3 days I tend to leave him but I always snap and wake him at 9am - that's 14 hours sleep at night, I wonder how long he would sleep if I didn't wake him, plus he still has a nap.

OK he's running around a lot during the day, do you think it's as simple as that? He's had colds, but he's in good spirits. He doesn't seem to have much of an appetite either.

Should I just shut up?

count your blessings

if he wasn't alert etc in the day and running around then that would be different but he sound slike he is tired out from being a toddler

My DS is just 19 months and usually sleeps at least 12 hours or more at night (8pm-8/9am), and has at least 2 hours during the day. So a total of 14 hours minimum which is pretty standard for this age, though probably at the lazier end

I reckon your ds is catching up from the days when he's up early for nursery. I'd make the most of it if I was you!

That's ok then, I'll just shut up and o away

I woke him at 9am this morning, he refused a nap and was in bed at 6pm
