5 month old - disturbed sleep

Help! My 5 month old son has slept through the night since he was 3 months old. However, for the last month or so has been waking up at about 4am for an hour - think this began with teething and he subsequently got bronchialitis which did not help. Have tried various methods to stop him waking up but none seem to work. Does anyone have any top tips??? Have just started him on solids but this doesn't seem to have helped.

Any advice gratefully received.

Is he demanding milk or a drink? If not, have you tried a different cot activity centre which might keep him amused until he drops back off to sleep? My DD wasn't a good sleeper and we found leaving the radio on quietly throughout the night helped as it drowned out any sudden external noises - i.e. cats.

thanks for that - he doesn't seem to be hungry - just awake! will give the external noise thing a try.
