Really suffering with ds's early waking - 5 am most mornings. We've tried everything and nothing will get him to sleep later. I had the same problem with dd and when she was 2.5 we got her the Kidsleep rabbit clock, it has been totally fantastic, best thing I've ever bought. I wasn't planning to use it yet with ds as I thought he should probably be a bit older - but any success stories of people using it with a younger toddler?

How old is your ds? We have just done a similar thing with our youngest (21mths) who was waking at stupid times of the morning. We have a light on a timer and have told him that until the light goes on he can't wake us up. He is definately getting there and has started sleeping much better and much later. This morning he woke up and I went to him, reminded him about the light and told him he had to wait. 10 minutes later the light went on and instead of crying for us he called out. It has taken a couple of weeks but I think he has finally got it. Give it a go. If it works it will be great. If not then maybe try again in a couple of months. Good luck!

That's really interesting to hear, ds is almost 19 months so a little bit younger, but I think sometimes they actually understand more than we give them credit for so maybe it's worth a try! if not then like you say I'll wait a couple of months.

The bunny is a bit fancy, I think, and for the child to see it properly you have to put it right next to the bed or cot. We have been using a small bedside table light, on a timer (which we got for free at local Neighbourhood watch!!) and it is set for 6.30. We had to explain to our DS over and ofer what it was for, but he got it after a little whileand now he doesn't generally wakes up until 6.30. He used to be a 5.30 waker. We started it when he was around 2 yo.
