Sick of my son being sick

My son keeps on being sick after he finishes breast feeding.

He has been sick 4 times in 18 hours and it seems like a lot. He is feeding well but having just fed twice for 30 mins and after each time he is sick, and then hungry again. Should I be worried about the sick?? Is there any common causes??

Thanks

Aw he is so young! I remember how frustrating it feels to feed them and then they bring it back up-what a waste of effort it seems!

How much is he bringing up? I don't think mine would bring up much at that stage.

I'm sure someone will come along who knows about reflux in case it's that?

Also are you winding him? I used to not wind my newborns and they would pass the wind out the bottom quietly later !

You'll find more help in the Breast and Bottlefeeding section!

Some babies are just a bit refluxy. My DS1 never puked, my DS2 puked after pretty much every feed. Does being sick bug him? Is he generally ok?

It's hard to tell how much they're sicking up - but a tablespoon of liquid makes a big puddle. A full feed is like a lake (DS2 threw up a full feed once or twice.)

Oh, and DS2 is 4 now, the puking didn't do any harm other than make a bit of mess, and maybe increase my supply. He's not a v pukey 4-year-old.

I had same problems with my ds2 who I was able to breast feed for 6 months. He would puke what seemed like a stomach full. I was really concerned he wasn't keeping any feeds down until my health visitor reassured me that what comes up is no where near as much as they have taken down - if you get the jist ?! In other words, he probably has adequate in his tummy and the rest is surplus to requirement. The proof in the pudding will be with weight gain ... how's that going?
