Help! Is this a phase??

My one year old daughter has been happy, independent and generally lovely. In the past few weeks she has become a clingy crying mess. Any time she spends time with me she cries and wants to be held and follows me everywhere. However, she doesn't seem much happier once I do pick her up.

She goes to nursery 4 full days a week and is fine there. She's content when she spends time with her father and other friends and family members.

Has anyone else had any experience with this?

Yes it is normal and a phase! At about a year babies can get v v v v v v clingy as they become more aware that you are able to come and go and they become more mobile. Also at a year there is a huge jump in development as they gear up for toddler hood and all that brain activity freaks them out a bit! My dd was exactly the same and my friends dd who is just coming up a yr is also exactly the same! Xx

Oh good- thank heavens for that- but the Big question is.....how long does it generally last????

DS was like this until about 3yrs (sorry), DD much less clingy.

my dd improved by about 18 months but still goes through phases every now and then (she is nearly 3)! It is def made worse when she is feeling under the weather.
