DS still doesn't weight bear (12.5 months old)- when should I get worried?

DS turned one a few weeks ago and he still isn't weight bearing on his legs at all. He adopts a froggy bent legs pose and just sticks his legs out in front of him in a sitting position. He has been like this for ages, I actually posted a few months ago but thought to myself that I wouldn't start to worry til he was one. He can hold his legs very wobbly for about a second when I hold him up but then he just collapses. He is a laid back happy chappy so I think he perhaps just can't be bothered but now all his little friends are starting to walk or are already walking and when I get asked 'Is your DS walking yet?' and I say 'He's not even standing' I get quite looks.

Should I be worried yet? Anyone elses baby not walk / stand for ages and is now OK?

One of mine didn't crawl until 12 months, & didn't walk until 19 (months, not years!) so your DS is well within the normal range atm.

no real advice sorry, but is it not worth checking with HV to put your mind at rest?

DS has his MMR in a few weeks so I'm going to ask HV then.

My ds was very similar. Give it a couple of months yet... once he sees his friends tottering about and getting to all the good toys before him, he will be more willing to give it a go

My DD didn't really weight bear until 20 months..she does have slightly low muscle tone and hypermobile ankles though. But she has just started to walk, just as she turned 2 and is catching up QUICKLY..noone can believe she has just started walking..so I wouldn't worry yet!!

My cousin's dd has only just started walking (she wasn't weight bearing until a month ago), and she's 2 months older than ds - so 19 months. The GP wasn't in the slightest bit concerned until fairly recently, and by the time he decided it was something to worry about and referred her to a paedeatrician she was walking.

My best friend's dd didn't weight bear until 16 months then walked at 17 months - the difference between her and dd (they are the same age) was amazing - dd walked at 12 months but fell over constantly and took ages to actually walk properly. This little girl just got up and went and never looked back - after a week she was chasing dd round the garden.

I think you've got a while before you should worry - but your GP should be able to reassure you.
