Newborn photos/ memorabilia?

I have a newborn baby and have kept the newspaper from the day she was born. Can you give me ideas for what other things you do in the early days? Also, ideas for cute newborn pics, eg taking her next to a tape measure or her "soon to be" favourite toy?? I know there are more important things like sleeping but I dont want to miss a lovely picture/ memorabilia opportunity!

I took a close up picture of both of my newborns feet in my hands, they had such gorgeous feet and showed just how small they were. Close ups of her face whilst sleeping with those gorgeous eyelashes they have.

I kept all the congratulations cards, hospital tags, the very first babygrow they both wore straight after birth.

I think it is nice to take a photo each month, say at the beginning of the month. Then you can see how they change (so lovely to see all of the photos together of how they have developed).

We kept a diary of the first days with ds like where we went, how he was, what he liked/ didn't like, when/ how he liked to sleep. We also kept his tag from hospital and the first sleepsuit and vest he wore and the outfit he wore the day we brought him home. We made a note of what was at number 1 in the charts the day he was born and also the price of a stamp, all sorts of odd little things to write in his baby book! Damn, I never got a newspaper from that day though, well done for remembering that!

Here you go Meandmyjoe....

Times newspaper archives - it may not be too expensive depending how far back you want to go....
