teething ? separation anxiety ?

My lovely chirpy 9.5 month old has had a few days of being off colour. He is eating but not as much as normal. He is sleeping fine both at night and naps during the day. He is grumpy and doesn't want to be put down on the floor to play. He is not really enjoying his normal activities. He hasn't got any teeth yet but I can see a white ridge at the bottom front two teeth. How long does teething last for until the teeth come through ? Or does this sound like a phase of separation anxiety ? He has had no big changes recently. Just wondering if there is anything I can do ?

hi saz- my DS has been through phases like this. Sounds like he's just getting over his illness to me. It'll probably just pass in a day or two. Not much to do except be patient- sorry! If you think it's teeth you could try calpol and see if it helps? Good news it hasn't affected his sleep- let's hope it stays that way!

PS teething can go on for weeks, or be over in days... depends how lucky you are!

I know, it's a nightmare isn't it! You're never sure of anything then just when you think you've got it, everything changes. Great though!
