Hi, my daughter is 3.5 and has lovely creamy skin but is prone to tiny spots on her cheeks. You have to look very close to see them.
I don't acctually use anything to wash her face accept water. I don't want to risk drying her skin out or causing irritation.
I just wondered what other people clean their childrens faces with, and maybe I should use something.

I only use a clean flannel and warm water on my 3.8 yr old son's face. I think if you wanted to use something, maybe something mild like Aqueous cream would be a good start?

Thanks, I used to wash her in that when she was a baby.

earth friendly baby body wash/shampoo or aveeno.

flannel and water. dd gets spots round her mouth but I think its might be a spotty rash from the dairy she has to eat. It coems and goes.

water & flannel

spit & tissue (essential childhood experience)

Do dairy products cause that?

she eats loads of dairy products. She is really fussy but she'll eat yogurt, cheese and eggs and drink milk. These are a big part of her diet.

my daughter has got the same just on her cheeks and they come and go. We too have been wondering what causes them. they almost look like milk spots but she is nearly three now.

Water and flannel, but has bath virtually every night and has a little bit of johnsons camomille shampoo every other day.

Just water

My daughter gets them on her cheeks and on the tops of her arms. We've been told it was related to her excema.

We also only use water, a flannel seems to help as a very gentle exfoliant.

Moosmummie · 10/11/2008 09:29

Spit on a tissue

mostly water and flannel. When she is grubby i use nature baby wash.

I use soap on my child's face (2.6) on a flannel. Is this bad?

His face is sometimes such a state - mud, paint, snot, food etc that I didn't think water would be enough. he has perfect skin though. Got some spots after a holiday where we were over zealous with suntan lotion i think.

Why is soap bad then? or is it just unnnecessary?

ohdearwhatamess · 10/11/2008 09:45

Just water

My dd (18 m) has this on her cheeks and upper arms. The doc diagnosed it as en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratosis_pilaris

I use E45, it seems to help.
