Normal teasing but very sensitive child

My DS1 is very sensitive but otherwise an outgoing and well balanced child. He started school recently and is finding it difficult to cope with teasing. Nothing serious just normal 5 year olds being silly more than anything. But he always reacts and so it just encourages it. How do I teach him not to react because he just doesn't seem to take on board that he is making it worse for himself. Any tips? Or is it something he will just figure out for himself?

I"m sure others will be along soon with better advice but maybe you could practice role plays with him where you pretend to tease him and he has to ignore it or laugh it off. If he practices that safely at home with you or his dad, it might give him confidence. Ask him what kind of things they say to get ideas..
