11mths and not even crawling yet - should I be worried?

DS2 is 11 mths and is not crawling yet, let alone cruising around the furniture. Most of the other babies his age are walking with walkers and many others are crawling around and are much younger than him. He kind of shuffles around slightly. SHould I be worried? One part of me is in no hurry for him to be moving around as I do enough running around after DS1, but as his first birthday comes up, I'm starting to wonder...

I wouldn't worry. Lots of children don't crawl by that age.

Make the most of it! Dd didn't move until she was 11.5 months and then it was just a little bum-shuffling. She walked (before crawling or cruising - she did everything out of order!) at 13 months.

Ds is 7 months and I am dreading him moving - it's hard enough chasing after one!

Lots aren't moving then - my friends DTs didn't move at all until they were 16 months old, and they are fine

My ds didn't move until he was nearly 13 months old. Then he started crawling then cruising, then finally walking at 16 months.

Honestly don't worry about it and enjoy it while it lasts.

Loads of babies don't crawl till later, and many don't crawl at all, just go straight to walking. Really nothing to worry about at this age.

My DS is 11 months and doing a bit of bum shuffling and rolling but not crawling yet. He's not even v interested in taking his weight on his feet, let alone pulling himelf up and cruising. DD was exactly the same - didn't crawl until the week before her first birthday and walked at about 16/17 months.

Enjoy it - once they're on the move, you can't really relax in quite the same way again.

My DS will turn one in a fortnight and he's been crawling for less than a month. Weirdly, he never really rolled around much, just after lots of time on his tummy (which he hated to begin with), he finally went for it. Now, he's desperate to stand up and pulls himself up on anything.
I went to a party a few months ago and a waif-like baby of a third of my DS's age was skittering about on the floor, much to DS's bemusement. The variation in when these skills are acquired can be huge!
However, to reiterate others' point: don't wish the days away when they stay sort-of where you put them.

Really nothing to worry about, all DC do things at different ages. My mum was telling me the other day that my brother didn't crawl until his first birthday and then it was a few months after when he started to walk, whereas I took my first steps at nine months old.

Enjoy not having to run around after your DS2 for the time being , I am run ragged by DD (11mo) she is into everything and very mobile now.

DD1 didn't crawl until 13m, didn't walk until 19m (however she could read before she was 3y!!) They are all good at somethings and not so good at others, so I wouldn't worry.
