First baby dropped morning nap around 9mths, second shows no chance of it, although on the occasional morning when he sleeps in (i.e. past 7.30am) I keep him up and give him an early lunch (11.45ish) and get him down by 12.30. Usually though he's out for the count between 10-11.

I think it depends on how much sleep she is getting the rest of the time, and overnight, and what sort of activities she is doing can also play a part.

HTH.

My DD is 8mo and she's never had a morning nap. Come to think of it nor lunchtime, afternoon.... Could explain why I'm so knackered by the time she goes to bad!!

Maybe it's just a phase...

LittleMonkeysMummy · 29/10/2008 21:42

sorry....bed

ShowOfHands · 29/10/2008 21:42

Morning nap dropped at 10 months. No naps at all from 13/14 months.

LoolaBoys · 29/10/2008 21:44

DS2 is 13 months and he still has two naps a day.

My 14 month old has just started to drop the morning nap. 9 months does seem very young but does she sleep a lot at night? My ds sleeps through for 11 hours at night and either takes 2 one hour naps, or 1 afternoon nap af 90 mins, but then has to go to bed half an hour earlier as he's knackered on these days.

11months, which I thought was way too soon! However since then, he usually has as long in one nap as he used to have in two so it's not been too bad.
Can you try just putting her down a bit later in the morning?

LaSpooky · 30/10/2008 10:16

OMG I think dd is doing this. When WILL I mumsnet clean the house?

Do you move the time of the afternoon nap earlier?

Romy7 · 30/10/2008 10:18

dd1 didn't nap at all until 14 months(!)
ds1 didn't morning nap.
dd2 had 2 naps until she went to nursery...
you just have to work out what works for the one you are looking at

meep · 30/10/2008 10:19

my dd is 16mo and still has a nap between 9am and 10.30am - it seems to be her favourite nap as she gets really excited ewhen I zip her into her grobag!

pinata · 30/10/2008 10:53

my nearly 11mo DD still has a morning nap but has refused all afternoon napping (exceot in the car) for about 2 months now
