6mo DS is sitting. What safety things do I need to do?

My DS has been sitting since he turned 5mo but I've only just realised that maybe I should be doing something to make things safe for him

What do I need to do? Can he still use his bouncy chair? Do I need to adjust his cot down to the lower setting or can that wait until he hits some other milestone? Anything else? Just realised that I'm a bit clueless as to what is and isn't necessary! I sort of had in my head that I wouldn't need to do anything until he was crawling but guessing maybe I'm wrong

I stopped using DS's bouncy chair when he could sit up as it would tip forward and yes I'd lower his cot, for the day when he pulls himself up and you don't realise that he can do it.
