Is it a that's lisp hindering my DD's speech development?

My DD has just turned 2 and seems to have a lisp because every word that comes out sounds like she is impersonating a snake. Every word that has an 'S' or 'T' would come out as a lisp. Is this normal for this age?

She hasn't really started putting 2 words together but is an excellent communicator and says what she wants but with only 1 word and points. Could a lisp stop her from speaking better??

i was told this was perfectly normal and not to worry until speech has come along fully and if hasnt gone then , then seek advise

My DS was like this at that age , to the extent my MIL was impersonating him - nice! He is 3.5 now and it is gradually disppearing. I was concerned just like you are, like bubblagirl says it may be part of normal speech development.
