My 23 month old has small yellowish marks on his 8 front teeth (top and bottom 4).Been to the dentist and he says not to worry!!!!Must have happened when he was developing.(been there since his teeth came through).I AM WORRIED!!! Will his teeth rot eventually, will these marks be on his adult teeth?Anyone out there experienced the same worry?

My DD has these on her 2 top teeth (middle) and I think that my sisters DS has them on his too. Dentist told us the same thing. ALthough just out of interest those 2 were the only ones we feed soya milk to and that is high in sugar.

I shouldn't worry too much squeezy, especially if the dentist has said it isn't a problem.
After all, he won't keep the teeth forever!

They didn't come through untill after the soya milk (it was infasoy). But my nephew doesn't have them on his adult teeth and DD is to young to know (3)

I would ask if they were due to fluoride. Fluorosis is becoming fairly common in the states and we have been really careful about what water ds drinks because of this.

Has he had any antibiotics before? ABs can cause marks on the teeth.

I feel better now. My DS (11mths) has a small yellow mark on one of his front teeth.
Now i'm not concerned

My ds1 (almost 4) has this on one of his front teeth. It has been that way since it came through. The dentist told me it is just how the tooth developed and there is no way to tell if the adult tooth will be the same. Id does not come through yellow - just pitted. But as soon as any food (including milk) starts to touch it, it will turn yellow from that. It is not decay though.

my dd has the four upper teeth that way... lil brown and yellow. alwo they are il-shaped. could be from so many things. the ped. dentist puts flouride on them and as soon as he get older he plans on putting a white covering over them........he was on lots of antibiotics. (NICU) but no one really knows what causes it.

My 3 yr old has these marks on his 4 front teeth (2 top 2 bottom). The marks are all about the same distance down his teeth and has had them since they came through. I was really worried but the dentist said it's caused by a virus I caught when pregnant. One of the marks has chipped a bit, think the enamel is weaker on the spots. I keep him off sugary things anyway. Don't want to make them worse! Hope his adult teeth are fine!
