Is my dd normal??!!

Not really a serious question as I know she is but she does not seem to be interested in either tv, dvds etc......

All my mates with dc the same age 2.8 are going to things like "disney on ice" "nemo on ice" "Cebeebies live" etc etc

And then some of them will watch an entire dvd together

My dd has the attention span of a gnat

I would like to take her somewhere like the above but feel it would be money ruined at the moment as I dont feel she would enjoy it or sit still.

Is this normal for a 2.8 year old or is she abnormal

DD will sit and do things but not sit and watch TV - too passive (she's 2) - but she does like the Wiggles because she dances and sings along with them

I feel sorry for your friends with their dull telly addict kids!

I think it's expecting a lot of a 2 year old to sit through a show, honestly. Better saving your money til they are 5 and can really appreciate the whole thing

She would rather go to park, or walk the dogs or ride her pony or swimming

she seem to be happier outdoors than sitting watching something.

My sister in law took my dd1 aged nearly four to a premier of a children's film - I had my reservations that dd1 was too young and I was right as they had to leave half way through as dd1 just wouldn't sit and concentrate.

She's mostly fine concentrating doing crafts though - like WMMC says, she's just not a couch potato.

Totally normal. DD1 (nearly 6) has only from around the age of 4 started to watch whole films or sit through the theatre.

I would say it is a good thing!

My DD was the same at that age (now 3yrs 3months and will watch TV for 30 mins or so if she likes the programmes but will just turn it off herself if she doesn't). She would still never watch a film but have taken her to a panto and Milkshake Live and she loved them - if it's real people on a stage she's much more interested, and that was despite never having actually watched Milkshake!(A friend had a spare ticket at the last minute - obviously it would have been a bit daft to have chosen it specially when she didn't know any of the characters)I agree with other posters that it's a good thing she's not interested but you might find she likes live shows. I reckon DD would probably sit through a theatre show now but would only last 10 mins in a cinema!
