I feel like I always end up saying the wrong thing when i'm chatting to people and it then comes across as odd or rude and I really don't mean to be either at all!! It's beginnging to really stress me out so i don't feel relaxed when i'm chatting to people and I guess this makes me then really conscious of everything i'm saying. I then really worry that I have upset the other person!! Does anyone else have this problem?!?!

There is a thread very similar to yours in mental health. Have a look and see if anyone (besides me!) has given any pearls of wisdom.

Yeo I do it all the time. You become so aware of it in a conversation and you just end up looking like an even bigger pratt! I sympathise, I often stumble to try and find something to say and then when I do I just look like a tit! Decided it's often best to just keep quiet until i've really assessed what's going to come out!
