What can I do to try to get ds (aged 3) to sit still at the barbers while they cut his hair. At the mo I have to sit him on my lap and hold him down while they give him a no 6 all over as this is all they can do as he screams and goes mental as soon as we walk in the door. Is he old enough to be negotiated with? Will a promise of a toy shop after be enough to stop him going mental and completely embarassing me please help!!!!

box of raisins?
anything that will distract him really, but the key is to take him every fortnight (even if they don't do anything) to get him used to it. It will pass eventually. I had this with DS1 he's 3.10 now and was like this until about 6/9 months ago.

Mu husband takes our ds with him to the barbers and they both get a haircut. I think this really helped as we've never had a problem.
