14 month old does not talk at all - is this normal?

ds said only bye bye and "NOOOOOOOOOOO" at 14 months, at 18 months he had about 20 words (including Bob, Scoop and Roley but not Mummy) but by 2 he was way way ahead of all his peers, could name loads of colours correctly, shapes, numbers up to 10 etc etc. I think with a lot of children language suddenly clicks.

my ds was 2 and would not speak
i got worried at one point and wondered whether he needed speech therapy
he is 3 next week and I cant stop him talking now
he is not speaking in full sentences yet but he is getting there
Every child is different and develop at ther own pace
