Is this normal in a 10mo? DD keeps making herself sick!!!!

DD is 10mo, she has started this habit a couple of weeks ago where she will stick her fingers right to the back of her throat. She keeps gagging while she is doing it and I go over pull her fingers out of her mouth/throat and gently tell her no.

Yesterday she did it a couple of times and was actually sick. She has just done it now and thrown up all of her breakfast.

Is it normal. I was wondering if she was just exploring new sensations.

What should I do?

yes sounds completely normal my ds did this alot and was sick several times a day i just tried to distract him from it he idd grow out of it

is she teething could her gums be playing up also maybe give her something to chew rather than sticking hand in mouth

its just a new thing she can now do lol

My DS is now three, and he wouldn't put his finger down his throat, but he would deliberately cough so much that he would vomit, always when we was upset, he is slowly getting out of it as we realised that it was deliberate, and told him off and calmed him down before the crucial point, maybe it is an attention thing, not sure, but it is certainly unpleasant and scarey.

Thanks, it is unpleasant, I'm glad that it is normal. Being sick doesn't seem to bother her either. I was just unsure if there was some sort of problem associated with this.

She has been teething on and off now for a couple of weeks so maybe that is what the problem is.

She has loads of things to chew on and put in her mouth I think she just prefers her fingers/hand atm lol

Thank you.
