Special Moment with my 3 yr old

Just had to share this. DH and I putting our 3yr old DS to bed. Discussing what to have for dinner. I say whatever we have we've got a cabbage that's been in the fridge for 3 weeks needs using.(where is the romance?) DS finds the word "cabbage" hilarious, and repeats it many times amid peals of laughter. DH queries "cabbage or cavalo nero?". I say to DS "cavalo nero - can you say that? "Cabalo debo" he says uncertainly, and then with a flash of inspiration "Cabbage Nemo!". He is so pleased with this, he's still saying it excitedly after DH has left the room to sort out cabbage.
Leaves me thinking I won't be able to say cavalo nero again without remembering this. Is that what makes having children so special, so magic? - even brassicas become special......

Most definitely - those little moments make the terrible three's bearable!

I was practically blubbing the otehr day when dd was sitting on her bed serenading me - I thought 'This is how it should be' rather than the constant nagging

oh, bless - they are funny little critters, aren't they

mine is currently going through a phase of imitating us sneezing, which cracks us all up. this morning he did it, then spontaneously leaned over and pretended to blow his nose - on my pyjama leg!
