and i think its to do with dd3 arrivial, plus all the previous upset with dh being in hospital, then me being in for longer than expected. she is refusing to do as asked, she refused to get out of the car yesterday, i had to literally pull her out.

she isnt being horrible to dd3, in fact she wants to play with her and i think thats whats bothering her. she tried 3 times yesterday to pick up dd3 and i had to tell her no, and offered to put dd3 on her lap if she sat down, but she just ran away from me. I am beginning to feel like i cant pick up dd3 when dd2 is about in case she gets upset. dd2 will ask me to do things when i am feeding dd3, and i have to send her to ask her dad as i cant do it and i think this is making dd2 feel like i dont care anymore.

I noticed a difference in her yesterday too. More quiet than before, does she want to come and play with DD2 here one day?

misdee · 01/03/2005 10:33

DD2 is having a major strop here, and I mean MAJOR!!

zippy539 · 01/03/2005 10:37

Oh, it's horrible isn't it? We had the same with DS when DD was born. I can't remember how old your DD is (and you're probably doing this already) but can you get her to help with nappy changes and 'safe' baby stuff etc to make her feel important? It's great that she's into the baby and I would play on that and try to keep her enthusiasm going (ds didn't even want to look at his little sister ).
