my son started nursery and is now frightened of any thing new or any new adults. how do i help him over this or will he get better on his own? he is ok at nursery when i have gone but it is sad that he is clingy all the time as he was ok before. dont want 2 stop nursery as he needs 2 play with other kids & is ok when ive gone

My DS hates change and is always clingy in new situations, every time he moves up to a new room at nursery he is unsettled. The thing is that it does sort itself out, after a week or so he is better and then soon is back to normal. It breaks your heart as a Mum and I really struggle with it but I suppose it is just part of their personality . I always try to be super positive when this is happening .

If he is extremely anxious you could consider taking him out of nursery and trying again in a few months but I would imagine he'll probably soon turn a corner.
