3 year old DD getting more clingy by the day (or so it feels)

DD is just 3 and is having a clingy phase (at least I hope it is a phase).

The problem is worst at pre-school where she goes two afternoons a week (which she has been going to since April) and was always happy to go in. Now we go in together but she does not want me to go at all. I am leaving, but she is sad as I do (although is fine in the sessions themselves).

Her older brother is now at school full time (he was had been doing mornings since January) and I am wondering if this is unsettling her? He used to come to drop her off at pre-school and there was no problem leaving her then.

She is doing in generally (ie not wanting to talk to "strangers" - ie people she doesn't know really well) although was having great fun with my sister yesterday .

Anyone else with a clingy 3 year old to sympathise with me? I am considering not hanging around at pre-school on Friday (she is there now) and just leave as I feel as if the crying will happen whatever .

I am a SAHM, which happened in April - before that I worked three days a week and DS and DD went to a childminder, and DD was always fine about going there.

Hi
I am having this 'phase'with ds who is 3.5
He has started going to playschool every day now instead of 3 days. When we go he is fine, but when I try to leave him he will cry, winge, make a fuss and today it was 'mummmmmmmy!'
Very weird as he is normally fine with no fuss at all. I usually try to leave as quick as possible so as to not prolong the agony!

I am 24 weeks pg so not sure if this has something to do with it?!

Just wanted you to know you are not alone!

Yes - my dd is having a very clingy phase that started about 6-8 weeks ago. She always has been very clingy but seemed to be growing out of it over the last year - until now.

She goes to a CM 3 days/week and is fine there. She's not at preschool. I might try it after Xmas but I think it will be hard to leave her with a group. She used to go to nursery and would have phases of wailing on being left.
