Am I meant to encourage crawling ...

or will it just happen?

DD is just 8 months old. Of the 16 antenatal babies (all similar age), 11 of them are crawling (have seen them in action today!)

I am sure that they are early to crawl?

Am not a competitive mum at all (and in some ways am really happy that my DD can only sit!) but just wanted to check that it does just happen.

She sits and rocks forward and pats the floor with her hands, she sort of lifts her bum up but not enough forward momentum

I dont have to encourage her do I?

My dd started that commando-crawling at 9 months- I found it so cute I was sad when she started crawling properly a few weeks later! Also meant she got a bit quicker doh!

My mum said that she looks like she has a wounded knee and arm and has made me video it for future giggles .Poor DD. I think its very cute.

Well done on videoing it. dd2 used to crawl with staight legs (bottom way up in the air) and we didn't get around to recording it which is a shame as it was really funny.

We only bought the video camera (or whatever they are called these days) 3 weeks ago (early Christmas present) so its still a new toy to us!

I am hoping to play it at her 18th. I also have a video of her yelling and throwing a strop, am sure that there will be lots of those between now and 18 too.
