What's the oldest you've known a child to lose their first tooth?

DS is 6 and just started yr 2 and he hasn't lost any teeth yet (not even wobbly) and it seems EVERYONE (in his eyes) in his class has already lost at least one. I'm sure he's not unusual but would like to reassure him!

DD1 is 7 1/2 and has had two wobbly teeth for months, still none lost. She feels pretty silly that all her friends have lost loads.

Don't know about oldest, but DD is also six, just started yr2. She has her first wobbly tooth today. Her best friend (6.25) is gutted, because hers aren't wobbly. They both admit that only a few people in the class have lots teeth - so there's plenty of time.

Ds has just started Yr 3, he is just 7 and is desprate to have a wobbly tooth.

DD is also 6 (and 5m) and hasn't lost her first tooth yet. However a couple are ever slightly getting a little loose in the jaw - just! She got her first teeth late at 13 months so only to be expected really.

Every other child in DD's slass at school have lost at least one if not more teeth. So, have many of her younger friends.

aah,plenty of time yet, then! I wonder if it's to do with how old they were when they got their first tooth as a baby? He was about 10 or 11 months

DS lost his first tooth at the age of nine.....he is now ten and has lost 8. All the girls in his class thought he was really sweet as he still had tiny teeth!! Tell him to 'milk' it for all it's worth with the girls!

DH was still losing teeth at uni, so runs in the family!

ds was 8 when he lost his first tooth. He's very small though so I think it's because his jaw was growing IYSWIM.

DD is 6 1/2 and still no wobbly teeth and they make such a big deal of it here as the DCs go to school at 6yo. They call them the Wackelzahnkinder, the wobblyteethkids and they are all desperate to have a one.

If it is any comfort, the dentist said that the later the 2nd teeth come in the better. They are the last set of teeth to come in so if they come in too early then the more time there is for them to get caries.

i think i was about 10, and i still have 4 milk teeth now, and i'm 25!

Ds has perfect teeth atm and I reckon there won't be room for 'big' teeth so happy for them to stay put for now. DD on the other hand is very gappy so will have loads of room and hopefully have perfect teeth as an adult!

A friend of DD's lost her first one in July. She was 7 in June.

I think that was about the latest in the class tho.

DD has lost 9 but the reason is to do with a nasty fall when she was 4.5 I reckon, so a red herrign for purposes of a survey etc.

ds2 has also just gone into year 2, but is at the elder end of the year as he's 7 next month. He lost his first tooth a couple of weeks ago. No sign of any others coming loose yet. He's desperate for more to fall out.

DS is 7 next week and his teeth seem well anchored in place!

DD's friend has just lost his first tooth aged 8 (they're in year 4)

Both Dss were in Yr3 before they lost their first teeth.

My DS 6 YO only lost his first tooth about 3 months ago. No others are wobbly but he has got a second tooth now fully come through behind one of his bottom baby teeth. Looks perculiar

Not sure if the is correct or not, but I have heard that if we were slow to teeth first time round then the same applies second time round. DS had teeth at 4 months, and now at 7, he has about 9 second teeth - not all replacing baby teeth, mind you, as the back molars (further round than baby teeth) have come in. He also has a gap. I think he has lost 6.
