I left Ex at my house wityh the dc's, and when I got back in, ds2 raced up to me and exclaimed "he'o Mummy, I'm (his name. Dat's (his brother's name)"

Did he forget I knew him? he's 2.6, and I found this really bizarre!

No, I'm sure that's not it. Sounds like he was really excited to see you and he said the first thing that came into his head.

EachPeachPearMum · 15/09/2008 21:44

Nah- he's just sharing with you his knowledge!
DD frequently tells me 'My mummy's having a baby' because I might have forgotten of course

Jux · 15/09/2008 22:09

He may have just learned how to introduce himself and was having a go to impress you with his fantastic social skills!

SmugColditz · 15/09/2008 22:27

yes, jux, you could be right

pW yes, he was very excited to see me, he was waddling from foot to foot and pointing at really obvious things "Dat's ds1's milk, dat's daddy..."

Funny little butgger. he was making "baby crabby crabs" with ancient (like 12 year old - my sister's!) plasticene the other day. They got some Wossage and mash tayto to eat!

LOL! This is normal.

DS has always done this. Today it was "I am xxxx....I am a hero....let me save you"

jollydo · 15/09/2008 22:38

My ds1, who is 4 1/2, has just started saying "Pleased to meet you" to anyone, including grandma yesterday and daddy today when he got in from work...

idontbelieveit · 15/09/2008 22:38

lol, my dd also says "wossage".

PinkTulips · 15/09/2008 22:39

i was walking dd home from playschool a couple of months ago and she turned to me very seriously and asked 'are you my mommy?'

slightly concernig as we were halfway home before it occured to her to clarify who she was wandering off with

she's 3.5!

ds crrects me when i call him anything;

i say his name and he says 'no, i a baby/baby boy/baby X/cat/dinosaur'

silly mommy not knowing that

FinallyGotDyson · 15/09/2008 22:41

LOL, my DS says "boffles" not waffles
