DS (11 months) who has never stood unsupported, or made any attempt at walking, got up this afternoon and took 9 steps across the room! Having done so, he spent the next hour getting up, walking, falling down, and repeating incessantly.

Has he been practising in secret when he's on his own?

I was sat there like while my Mum teared up!

How exciting!! I love their faces when they realise they are walking!!

Of course, it's crash helmet at the ready now, all the corners in your house will leap out at his poor little head!

I know! I spent the next hour walking behind him like a moveable crash barrier

It is so exciting though (PFB alert!)

Nothing to do with a PFB, you feel like that the second time too. It's a lovely moment!

Come to mummy, come on, walk to mummy... I can hear you!!!

Apparently I did the same when I was a baby. My Mum said having shown no signs of walking and not wanting my nappy changed I got up and walked off!!!
