Hi I want to get my LO to take naps on her stomach during the day. However she flatly refuses to do so. Any tips?

FAO ConnorTraceptive - how did you find the goi goi pillow?
I've ordered one for the pram - is it really any better than any other small flattish pillow?
What if I pass a HV in the street?

Oh and I agree on the co-sleeping thing.
I spend most of the night with baby in my arms on her side so she can't possibly roll around and we both have lovely cuddles all night long. I also believe that my breath on her face helps to regulate her breathing and we are so in tune with each other that I can relax, knowing she is safe. So in my mind this is a good, safe way of preventing flathead.
Just a point to note though - neither of us have pillow or quilt so it takes some getting used to!

OP - Do you really think that all the MNs that replied on this thread are wrong and abusive and are just gagging up on you?

As pointed out severtimes, YOU were the one who got rude, and in the start of the thread, people were just telling you the guidelines!!

People are concerned as they don't want you to put your LO at risk and regret it if something happens.

I would always follow the guidelines for SID - how would you feel if something were to happen because you ignored all the advise?!?!

I am the "poor woman whose dead child" was referred to earlier.

She died during an afternoon nap - less than fifteen minutes after having been put in her cot.

The choice is yours. All the information on safe sleeping is there.

Your health visitor is giving incorrect advice.

ggglim i read your post an hour ago and i didn't know what to say.
i am so sorry for your loss.
i am sorry if you felt that anyone spoke about you and your daughter in a disrespectful way but mostly i am touched by the fact that you, as the one person who could have ranted and got angry did not but instead had the dignity to state your case calmly.

i have learnt a huge lesson.

scaredoflove · 13/09/2008 23:31

ggg so sorry for your loss

I had my first 2 children before back to sleep was introduced. One was born the same day as Anne Diamonds baby so it was very relevant to us

They both had bald patches on the back of the head (sometimes looking a bit pink/red) They slept on their fronts. The still got bald patches from being in bouncy/car seat/buggy and laying on the floor etc Front sleeping won't stop a bald patch!

All babies get them, it grows back and OP, you are very rude
