22 month wriggling out of car seat

My DS is very double jointed and he is managing to wriggle out of his car seat. I have pulled to shoulder straps very tight and I sat next to him and watched, he can put his hand so flat on his side he can get his arm under the strap.

I often have to drive him on my own and really need a solution to this. Has any else experienced this and how did you deal with it?

How can I stop my little Houdini

Can you explain why he has to stay in the seat? This worked with DS a treat, we also made a big deal out of the seat being 'special', DH and I really wanted to sit in it but only DS could fit in the special seat.
Other ideas give him plenty to keep his hands and mind busy in the car.
Try bulkier clothing don't think he will be too hot in this lovely summer weathergrin]
