arrrgghhh dd 14 m climbing every where how can i stop her?

she as prolems been told she shouldnt even be walking with her problems, but she is and the clibing is doing my head in i know i should be pleased with what she doing but arrrgghhh i can not turn my back gets on to sofa then climbs on to top of it! i should keep getting her down and saying nooooooo, but its not sinking in none of my other kids was this bad, and after saying no a few times never went back, what can i do i dare not leave her for a second?

i do keep getting her down it should have said

could you get a large play pen so she can play safely ?

As the mother of a 19 month old climber, I say watch them lke a hawk, nail a few bookshelves to the wall and look forward to them going to sleep.

seriously though DD is the same here; all I can do is keep an eye on her and never turn my back on her for a minute. She nearly tipped herself into the bath the other night and I hadn't put any cold water in it yet

daisy hi its driving me crazy we got a play house ourt side all she wants to do it climb through the window head first of cause, goes up slide wrong way to. hows your ds with the little wrigglers?

Great that she's on the move Trace, though not so great that you have to watch her like a hawk! Hopefully she'll calm down a bit soon, good idea to screw the shelves to the wall if you haven't already.

I think with Chloe, if you can make the area as safe as possible, then just let her get on with it, with supervision. KIt sounds like she is making up for her shaky start in leaps and bounds.

Or, do you have any soft play centres nearby where you can take her regularly? That might help her get it out of her system.

trace ellen has worked out how to climb up her highchair, and onto the dining table.
imagine walking in the room to find her standing on a table? she was face to face with me! heart stopping moment!
thomas was like this, no fear.. apparently i used to throw myself of roundabouts..

its does get better, thomas has grown out of it now, but i agree it is hard work. a playpen was the only thing that worked for me, if u need to turn ur back at least u know she is safe? (till she works out how to climb out of it... yeah mines now in the loft lmao!)

Sputnik we have already done that befor dd came along i am pleased that she walk and climb but its so arrgggh and i dont like her going to bed as shes now on a apenea monitor and get scared it going off

daisy glad they all gone lol, and yes i do try to take her but we always at the hospital, and tbh waiting till schools goes back.

Finn is 17mths and a demon
He climbs so much I had to leave him to it. Yes one busted nose and bumps scrapes and grazes
But super confident and competent now!

playpen!! i heart my playpen! it was actually dd1s playpen but never got used untill dd1 started to crawl. she is a climber too!

she also climbs out o highchairs in order to stand on the tray she is a terror. i will have heart failure one day!

the one i have is a baby dan baby den. it quite big and still enough room for dd2 to walk around. also can be used as a room divider or to section off a corner of a room so can be very spacious.

once put Finn in playpen at swimming pool
He lifted it up and crawled under it!

baydan is metal so quite heavy i have trouble lifting it. but dd2 is very close to learning how to open it!! ill be buying a bike lock for it once she does. i truely could not cope without it!
