Vomiting formula

I have on three occasions tried giving my four month old a little formula (first hipp organic, then aptimil, then nutramigen) each time he has projectile vomited it up after a couple of hours. My doctor suggested nutramigen but that didn't work either. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't think its a lactose intolerance because when he was in the hospital at birth he was given a few bottles of formula with no problems. Thanks

my little girl used to have reflux problems which make her vomit all the time. My doctor prescribed gaviscon saches to put on teh bottle, they did help a lot, stop her for vomiting so much.

hello, thank god someone else is having these problems too. my 4 month old daughter has been totally bf up until a month ago when I went back to work (sat only). up until that point she was happy to take ebm from a bottle. we gave her a bottle of aptimal formula for the first time 2 weeks ago and an hour later she had vomited the whole lot up and carried on vomiting for at least an hour her nappies smelt foul. We thought it was just a bug, so a week after that she had her 2nd bottle of formula and 30 minutes later vomited the whole lot up in her car seat!!! and carried on going for several hours after. went to see the doctor and he said try again in 2 days it maybe viral - hah yeah right! so unfortunately for my husband he tried again with hipp organic and in a 40 minute period managed to get her to take about 5ml and then in the afternoon she refused a bottle of ebm!!! so now she hates formula and the bottle. went back to the doctors this morning and they are talking about this nutramigen but won't do it until she has had refferal so apparently I am now supposed to continue 'trial and error' on formula!! they also suggested I get the health visitor involved so I've also been there this morning. they have reccommended that I concentrate on getting her to take bottles again by either offering that and nothing else and be prepared to sit it out! offer a beaker or cup instead of teat. and then the formula question remains unresolved..........HELP

I'm afraid i cant help except to let you know you are not alone. My friend's son has vomitted after every formula feed. Mum is still breast feeding so it isnt a problem yet, but she is worried about what will happen when she goes back to work.

Apparently the vommiting is so violent and spontaneous (while he is fast asleep) that the first time it happened she nearly took him to casualty.
