DS still not saying Dadda

Is this all right? I thought babies were able to say Dadda or something similar by now (he's 6 months old). Or do boys start later than girls?

He's making lots of other sorts of sounds - mainly hhhhlegh and hhhhyargh (feel a bit mad typing this!) but still no Dadda words, even though I chat with him all the time!

What do you think?

Don't worry he will say it eventually. All babies/children are different, they all develop at their own pace. One day he wilol just say it.

My ds was nearly 9 months old before he started saying dadda. Could say mamma about 7 months but nothing but ooo and ahhhh at 6 month, much too early to worry.

ASAIK syllables usually come by about 8 months - 6 months is young for this

I'd be concerned if he wasn't speaking by 2 years, and I doubt you would get anyone medical to worry about it much before then. My 18 month old has mama very clearly but won't say dada for love or money, much to Dh's frustration.

My nearly 10 month old doesn't say dadda!!! He can say 'mumumumumumumumumumumumumum' though and some other babababababbababaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaababbababaaa type of things though. They will all get there in the end!

My 15 month old doesn't say dada either so don't worry!

my almost 13 month old doesn't say dadda. He only said mama in the last month.

However he does a great range of lgkjwpeoatiuwqntweth (seriously, that's what it sounds like )

Don't worry about it! It will come in time. And tell dh not to take it personally

I blame all these "your baby should be doing this by now" books - induces paranoia!
