DD is doing this really weird breathing thing, should I be worried?

since late yesterday afternoon she has been doing this breathing thing where when she breaths in she makes a wheezing sound. It sounds really bad.
But she doesn't do it all the time, only every few breaths. She doesn't do it when she is sleeping.

Does anyone know what it could be, should I take her to the GP's?

How old is she?
You normally only hear wheezing on exhaling.

She's 8.5mo, she doesn't wheeze on breathing out. Do you think it could be something consious she is doing??

Could be that she's just worked out how to make a fun new sound. Can you distract her out of it?

Yeah actually, when I come to think of it she doesn't do it if I call her name and she gets distracted.
