My ds is 7 1/2 months and has just learnt to pull him self up to standing on the furniture over the last week or so. Yesterday he learnt to pull him self to standing in his cot and travel cot (playpen), good job we dropped the cot last week! Very pround of all this of course.
Now a little worried though as have just sat watching him in travel cot and he has stood up grabed on to the top and started to walk his legs up the side pulling him self up with his arms, now he only got about half way but cant think it will be long before he is up and over the top. Obviously this is not an issue in travel cot when we are here but what if he does it out of his cot at night? Any suggestions on how to contain him?

At that age I'd be very very surprised if he had the sustained strength in his arms and the dexterity required to get himself up and over the side of his cot. All you can do is drop the cot to its lowest level, make sure his room is baby proof just in case and perhaps put a gate on his door. Put a blanket or something next to the cot if you're really worried.
