Kids playing upstairs while I MN tidy up.

Just heard DS2, age 3, say "Huh hum....."

Sounded very funny. He has been coming out with all sorts I say just lately.

My oldest DS (4 3/4) says 'goodness me' all the time and I don't know where he got that from (someone at preschool perhaps). Yesterday he said to me 'mummy please be quiet I need to make a phone call'.

DS1 (7) was been asking to go to a football match and I am comtemplating taking him. I have explained that he may hear some rude words, but that I trust him to know not to repeat them. He said, but I know some rude words, like poo and pants if only....

That reminds me of when I was driving the DSs to town once and someone cut in front of me on a roundabout and I went 'shiiiiitttt!' and the DSs began singing 'shit! shit! shit!' in the back of the car and giggling to themselves. They were very tuneful. They didn't know it was a bad word luckily and I just ignored it cringing to myself.

my DS (aged 10months) sits with his hands on his hips sighing at me! He must have picked it up from nursery as neither me or DH ever put our hands on our hips.

My ds (2yrs4mths) loves saying 'Oh my dosh' and 'Oh my doodness'! He got it from when I was looking after my 8 year old niece who likes to say 'Oh my God' all the time. Every time she said it I would say 'gosh' loudly to cover up the 'God'! Silly me!

Also, my sister said that, after a particularly stressful week, her dd (aged 3) came in to her room saying her baby brother was 'f**king crying again' just like she was telling her what the weather was doing.

My dd was having a chill on the sofa and she suddenly said ah well, this won't get anything done! That is my saying!

DS1 is always telling me 'not now mummy, I am busy' and he has got that from me.

Before I had children I can remember being in Sainsbury's and being really shocked when this woman shouted to her child 'stop it now, your getting on my f**king tits!' I vowed never, ever to turn into that!

My 3 year old and I were out walking the other day when he stops and points up at a lit lamp post and says "whats that doing on at this hour??"...wee granda or what?!

I once overheard my ds say to dd "can you think of a rude word that rhymes with duck?"

Perhaps he was thinking of " muck " !!!

I once had a bit of an issue with the driver of my DS1's school bus (forgot to drop him off at the correct bus stop and I had to drive like a maniac throught the streets to catch him up!!!) Was understandably v unhappy. I then repeated the story to my DP about the 'idiot bus driver'.

A few days later we were again waiting at the bus stop for DS1s bus. DS2 pipes up 'Is that DS1s bus??' I replied that it was. he then follwed this up with'And is that the idiot bus driver!!!'

Thankfully this was before the bus stopped and the doors opened!!

my friend and i were talking about her new neighbours while her ds, then 3, was playing trains on the floor. when she mentioned the neighbours' kid, her ds piped up: 'yes, he's a neurotic little freak'. my friend exclaimed in horror: 'don't say that he's a lovely little boy! anyway where did you hear those nasty names?' to which her ds inevitably replied: 'that's what YOU called him'. yup, another overheard phone conversation
