Aahhh my almost 6 mth old (down syndome + congenital heart defect) dd patted my back today and then sat up while I was carrying her to look me in the face and then touched my face. I almost melted!! It is so great to have those moments. It seems so lame but it really made my day... Had a couple of difficult weeks with plumbers, 4 days with no heating ( finally fixewd yesterday in time for snowy day today), inland revenue, social security and child benefit.

Good on you and Dd

Alibubbles · 30/01/2003 16:07

eidsvold, that sounds a really special moment, I'm sure you will treasure it, she is really communicating with you!

Marina · 30/01/2003 16:09

Eidsvold, how wonderful that must have been

Mommymommy · 30/01/2003 17:29

How wonderful, it must have been an amazing feeling for your baby to give you such a special moment when other things are making you feel so p**d off. You mention Inland Revenue, you need say no more.

not lame at all. Brilliant news. I remember when ds1- then over three- carried his lunchbox to the car (autistic- and some sort of dyspraxia- 6 months ago he couldn't walk and carry anything)- I rang everyone who would understand why I was so excited.

I loved it when my baby ds's deliberatly looked me in the face - eidsvold, say no more.

Glad your heating is on. Ours is off ( only a gas fire is working). Lots of bed sharing with children tonight I think.
