1 yr old nightmare after being with grandparents

spent yest afternoon and eve with them and today cries if we take him away from toys/wash his teeth/change nappy

but cries big time and moves body in a fit/lunges backwards?

is this spoilt behaviour normal?

so young?

must have had 24 hr attention yest and now wants it - we give 23 hr attention but also need to do the nasty things..and one hour for us!

lo always ignoring me anyway but today was having tanturn with hubby and THAT is rare

is this normal at so young an age?

my dd has a hissy fit if we try to take toys away from her when she's not ready to relinquish them.

She can go from giggling & bouncing to whiney & girny in a nano-second.

In fact - had 5 other babies round yesterday (NCT group 1st b'day party) and they are all pretty much like that!

He is tired.

this heat is very exhausting for LOs IME

he isn't spoilt

My ds has always been like this! Always cried when changing nappy/ dressing, screams when I move him away from toys or take things off him. I know ds has always been highly strung but from what I have seen in other babies it is very normal behaviour. He's not spoilt probably just cranky with the heat. My ds has always been a grouchy baby but is deffinitely mellowing with age! (Or maybe I know how to handle him better!) He's similar age to your ds, 1st birthday in 9 days but has always thrown tantrums like a 2 year old!

Bumbly, do you warn him when things are going to happen? Tell him things like "in a little while we're going to have a bath, and you will have to stop playing with your truck", then repeat it a minute or so later, and then again - you may find he's more biddable in general with lots of "briefing" like this.

I thought DD1 was doing this after being with MIL while I was in and out of hospital having DD2.
Turns out MIL was 'skipping' her nap for more playtime, (FIL dropped her in it) so she was just exhausted on top of normal behaviour..

just he is very bossy and cranky baby and yet hubby and i are very mellow folks!

hate seeing him winge all the time!!!
