My DD aged 3 keeps shouting in her sleep - getting so fed up with being woken up

Can anyone advise me, my DD aged 3 shouts incomprehensible stuff out in her sleep several times a night, waking us up.

she doesnt wake up but then we are suffering disturbed sleep every night

she goes to nursery 3 days a week and loves it, asks to go more, and tells me off if i pick her up early, so i dont think she is worried about anything there

other than this she is intelligent, very active and never stops talking and rushing round everywhere

any advice would be really appreciated

I dont think you can stop her doing it - she is probably just dreaming. Have you though of investing in earplugs?

I'm afraid that I do exactly the same thing, to the annoyance of my family. I can reassure you that it is accompanied by no dreams and certainly no distress.

My ds is 11 and still shouts out in his sleep every night. We have learnt to live with it, but when he goes on sleepovers other parents say about it and it embarrasses him. There isn't anything you can do about it as far as I know. My ds is completely happy and doesn't have any worries so I think it is just one of those things.

i do use earplugs - her Dad snores so i get woken up by both of them. they fall out during the night though

i will battle on. this comes on top of her not sleeping through till she was 2.5 so i have had a weary 3 years of sleep interruptions.

i guess it comes with the territory eh?
