I've just turned round to see DS3 (nearly 14 months) sat happily on the sofa watching Cbeebies........

He was toddling around quite happily 2 minutes ago on the floor....... He's now walking up and down the sofa.......

How long before I get my first tumble do you reckon???

there we go wasn't long - he just fell off backwards (thankfully was sitting down at the time - so was shocked - but unhurt).....

what's that? 8 minutes lol

DS has just started climbing...onto our glass coffee table - eek!

dd2 (18months) seems to think the dining room table was invented for walking on (literally the minute my back is turned she runs out there, climbs on chair and on table in about 20seconds) I went for a wee this morning and dd1 is shouting at me that dd2 has fallen off the table (shes fine btw!)

aww well Stealth - my philosophy is unless it's carries a risk of serious injury - and is something that they should never be doing - I let them live and learn (cruel mother I know ).

DS2 used to race across my dining room table at a similar age - stopping suddenly RIGHT at the edge of it..........that was scary

I would have never have let dd1 do half the things dd2 does (I think I was a PFB mother with dd1 )

Wonder what your ds3 will discover next

eandh - my DS1 seemed to think he was a PFB - he never did any of this "scary" stuff that most babies/toddlers tend to do.....

I kept waiting for it and it never happened - he was about 3 1/2yrs old before he realised that he could climb out of the bed in the morning on his own and didn't have to lie and shout for mummy to come and get him out

No I agree, but can you imagine the A&E staff - that's the mum who let her DS play on a glass coffee table

Stealth - those glass tables are incredibly tough - highly unlikely to break

One of DS1's peers used to climb onto their glass dining table, (after moving the cast iron chairs across the room to be able to do it )) and bang the (glass) salt and pepper shakers on it and jump up and down (this was from the age of about 14/15 month). No harm done (apart from to his mums nerves )

We've had a glass corner table since just after DS1 was born (he's nearly 8 now) and it's still going strong too - despite years of abuse....

oh and part of the abuse involved my DS2 recently doing a full somersault on the sofa - straight over the edge and landing very hard on the table - he's 4 1/2 (but big for his age)

ooh ouch!

yeah - he was rather shocked to say the very least (as was I lol) - the worst damage was to the glass of Dr Pepper that had been sat on the table when he launched himself onto it - it went flying off the table and broke - so I had sticky broken glass to clear up - yuck
