My current argument against controlled crying

DT1 just screamed when put to bed. I decided to ignore her for a while. I put DT2 in the cot and walked away.

DT1 screamed until she was sick. She threw up all over DT2 (poor darling). So DH changed the babies again and I changed my clothes.

Ah the joys....

ah the wonders of children who can make themselves sick.

yes they share a cot, but I've a feeling that DT2 isn't quite so happy about it anymore lol

Am just sitting down to the PC with a large galss of the nasty cheap cooking wine (desperation as no othe booze in the house), having just spent the 2nd consecutive evening scrubbing puke out of baby outfit, sleeping bag, bedding and my clothes. Sympathies. I'd offer you a swig of the wine, but I'm now nervous around liquids.

My DS still gags when he crys to much he's 8.

I feel for you MTMML. I posted a thread a few months ago on this. I can't stand to see DS cry so hard he pukes.

We tried CC and it really made things worse. He lost trust in us and we're only now getting back to normal. Some say this works on all kids, I disagree strongly. It's made my DS worse and we've had nothing but restless nights since.

forget the cooking wine. A nice single malt does the trick every time.

I've been trying the 'kissing game' for the last 5 nights as I can't stand the crying. I'm trying to teach my 17 month old how to sleep on her own. Since starting it, she's certainly improved and one night was asleep on her own within 8 mins!! She's far more clingy during the day now and won't let me leave the room. I strongly recommend this method if you're soft like me! Watch this space, sometime soon I hope she'll be able to settle herself during the night too and not wake up every 2 hours!!
p.s. as I'm new to this, what's dd and dt stand for??!!
