the boy's just had a poop on the toilet!! WOOHOOOOO!!!! first time poop. he ran to me and said quick quick mummy we went to the loo n he went!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!

have got the pee more or less sorted out - the question is now do I risk going out with him without his nappy on or not? (he seems to think his big boy pants are like his nappy thou, n I don't want to knock his confidence.) - he's not so good at asking for the loo. (or quick) as he says if he's got bottoms on.

brilliant! He'll have the hang of it all soon I bet. It is such a proud moment when they reach this stage.

Oh I'm so jealous! How old is he?

DiscoDizzy · 09/07/2008 12:05

I'd stay in for a couple more days to see if he's got it sorted or next time he's had a poo and a wee, hurry off out for an hour.

Pheebe · 09/07/2008 12:07

Thats fabulous well done both!

As for going out, ds has been 'toilet trained' for almost a year and I still take a pull up and spare 'bottoms' with me just in case accidents happen!

davidtennantsmistress · 09/07/2008 13:31

he's 2.5 have been 'playing' with the training for a few weeks but nothing really - sooo proud this am. thou. nappy went on to go out with (he was in the crèche for an hour and a half) - stopping in tomorrow thou n he's got an hour & half again on fri, so think i'll take his pants & spare bottoms on fri and see how he goes there - they're good at asking him if he needs a wee etc.

oh and nappy's back off now - will have to remeber the potty, spare bottoms and pants now - but have promised him some fire man sam pants if he's a good boy.

oh to bribe your child! lol.

have you got a friend who stays very close by? you could walk there for a cup of tea and back.

take your potty,spare bottoms.

you get a seat protector from mothercare that can be used for pram/car seat/highchair.

it's cheap. and you just bung it in washing machine if has accident. saves washing pram/car seat cover.

sitting on a plastic bag never worked for me.
